V240M Setup Guide

Follow our step-by-step user guide to get your new v240M up and running, explain important functions, and ultimately, start taking payments.
It couldn’t be simpler, on average setting up your new POS takes less than 5 minutes, however if you get stuck we are on hand to assist, just call into one of our experts on 0808 175 1372.

Lets get you up and running

First up, check you have the following items included with your terminal:

1x Verifone V240m card machine

1x power cord

1x SIM card (if GPRS was selected)

1 x till roll

1x base unit (This will be a full-feature base for Bluetooth models and a standard charging base for Wi-Fi and GPRS models)

Now to insert the till roll pull up the latch on the paper roll cover and open the cover and insert the paper roll into the terminal and close the cover, making sure the paper sticks out a bit.

 

 

 

Navigate the following sequence of menus by pressing the Menu button on the idle screen:

Menu > Configuration > Using the number keys, enter the default password of ‘1234’ (unless you have previously changed this) and press Enter key. > Communication

Select WiFi > Configuration > WiFi Scan >

Select the name of the router you want to use and press Add

Select Pre-Shared-Key (PSK) and enter the router password and select OK

Select Save > OK > Yes > OK > Status. Status will show as ‘Up’.

Navigate the following sequence of menus by pressing the Menu button on the idle screen:

Menu > Configuration > Using the number keys, enter the default password of ‘1234’ (unless you have previously changed this) and press Enter key. > Communication

In the communications panel, check that the network for Mobile Data status is “Up”, if this is the case you are operational and can press the cancel key to return to the main idle screen.

If you see “Down” stated against “Mobile Data”, please contact us for support.

Bluetooth terminals will be supplied already paired with the base unit provided; your terminal can only use the Ethernet connection when it is paired to the base unit.

To associate your terminal to a Bluetooth base go to Menu > Configuration > Using the number keys, enter the default password of ‘1234’ (unless you have previously changed this) and press Enter key. > Communication.

To perform a sale insert the card, swipe, manual key entry or tap contactless card and enter PIN or Present card if under £100 and then press the Enter key.

The terminal connects to the host and the terminal has received approval response from the host and printing the receipt.

Press the Enter key to print a customer copy, ff no receipt is required press the Cancel key to revert to the idle screen.

The terminal prompts user to remove the card before going back to idle screen.

To perform a refund navigate the following sequence of menus by pressing Menu button on the main menu, Menu > Refund > Enter the supervisor password > Enter refund amount and then press Enter key to confirm.

Present, insert, swipe or key in the card number of the payment card and the standard flow is performed (connecting, authorising, PIN/signature, approved, printing).

 

There are 2 steps to carry out your End-Of-Day reporting:

Step 1: Menu > Reports > Using the number keys, enter the default password of ‘1234’ (unless you have previously changed this) and press Enter key. > End of Day (Z)

This report will show you how much you have taken that day.

Step 2: Menu > Reports > Using the number keys, enter the default password of ‘1234’ (unless you have previously changed this) and press Enter key. > Reconciliation > Global Payments

This report will send the funds to our acquirer to credit to your account.
